10:50 PM

Today’s Weather: Clouds and sun. Cold. High 18. -4 now.

I made today into a family day once the morning briefings were wrapped up. The world is…..well, still broken but quiet for the moment. This will not be the case for long though. We are already seeing the rumbles in Mexico and there is some growing instability along some of China’s border areas. Vietnam and Russia appear to be getting ready to poach some territory. Not unexpected, I’m simply surprised they waited for so long.

Megan will be leaving on Monday for BYU. Everything has been handled with her transfer so I guess California is now permanently in her rearview mirror. Only trouble with that is she left her sailboat out there. Oh well. Alex starts up classes on Monday too. He’s fallen in love with Colorado State and seems to be enjoying everything the school offers. God help me but he’s talking about ROTC. Not quite sure how I feel about that.

Speaking of the military and family, David will be coming home in early February for a thirty day leave. Apparently, he’s being promoted and with the bump up comes a new set of orders. I could ask the CNO for a heads up but that would spoil the fun. David will tell us when he finds out in seven or eight days.

What’s On Tap For FDOA In November and December

Evening, everyone. I hope the weekend has been good to you. It’s hard to believe we’re just under two weeks away from Thanksgiving. Christmas will be here before we know it. Time flies, I swear.

So, here I am after a brief sabbatical from Final Days. The break was nice and gave me an opportunity to catch up on some other projects I have underway at the present time. But to be honest, I’ve missed Final Days and am eager to jump back in. I’ll start posting entries again on Thursday and try to maintain a pace of one post every 2-3 days. The first few entries will provide details about the world in the aftermath of Operation Blue Vulture. At home, the US government is moving to reestablish a semblance of normalcy beginning with nationwide elections set for 2025. Relief and recovery are taking precedence once again. However, following California’s attempted treason there’s increasing concern that other states might attempt their own secession in the near future. There’s also a loud minority of Americans who believe the eastern US should be permanently abandoned. There is even a rudimentary resettlement and decoupling plan gaining popularity. Those citizens wishing to resettle in the central or western regions of the US will be permitted to, while those remaining in the east would be stripped of their citizenship and the east coast would become a colony of sorts, subordinate to the United States.

Then there are the trials and tribulations overseas. China’s formal surrender and what shape the country will take in the aftermath of the decisive Operation Blue Vulture. Then there is Europe where the UN remains embedded in Geneva and Russia continues to lord over all of Ukraine, the Baltic States and Poland. NATO has broken up and so has the European Union. One way or another, the US will have to provide some type of aid as well as leadership to prevent Europe from imploding.

These are just some of the issues facing the US government and its newly minted Vice President Daniel Alexander Wertz. 😊
